この間、ある友達に「iPod買わないの？」って聞いたら
「何でHDDやフラッシュメモリなんて制限のある箱に
俺の音楽詰め込まなくちゃいけないんだ？
俺は音楽ライブラリにアクセスして音楽を再生する小さい箱と
イヤホンだけを持っていたいんだ」
ってニュアンスの返事が返ってきた。
そいつは自宅サーバに音楽を置いといて、
無線LANかなんかでどこからでも自由に聞きたいんだ
と話した。
HDDだのフラッシュメモリだの、箱の容量に囚われずに
サーバの容量を追加すればいくらでもたくさんの
音楽を持ち運ぶことが出来る。
そんな素敵な理想を現実にサービスにしてしまったのがOboeだ。
と言ってもこれはストレージサービスなので
上述の自宅サーバの部分に当たる。
後は iPod 並の素敵な無線LAN対応携帯音楽プレーヤーが
出てきてくれればバッチリだ。
･･･そういやその昔無線LANに対応してた
携帯音楽プレーヤーがあったな･･･
